OUR VENDORS

Le Boeuf & Lobster

Love Catering UK came from humble beginnings, just like all street food vendors – serving breakfast in a gazebo. After moving to Leeds to take up a residency and gaining some traction with their delicious creations, they toured the festival circuit for two summers, serving gourmet street food at music festival giants like Reading and Leeds and setting up as a sole trader at Glastonbury’s private campsites.

Over the last two years, they’ve served at events up and down the country – from Newcastle to London – all the while experimenting with different menus. “Le Boeuf & Lobster has always been a really strong brand for us,” says director Sam Elsender. “Our most popular menu item is definitely the Lobster Mac N Cheese – we’ve made a high-end ingredient accessible and affordable enough to try it if you’ve never had it before.”

Now their focus is on Bristol and the southwest, offering private catering for parties, corporate functions and weddings, as well as bringing their airstream to markets and pop-up venues. They even set up in people’s homes to create a mini festival in their garden. “We love catering directly to our customers – that way, we can offer a personal touch. It’s so rewarding.” As of December 2019, Love Catering has taken up permanent residency at Bristol & Bath Rum Distillery on Park Street, serving a quarterly changing menu of smokehouse, Mexican and vegan dishes.

No matter where they are, the team at Love Catering are determined to create a menu that’s gourmet without being formal. How would Sam describe the company in three words? “Something for everyone.”

Pepe Nero

Established in 2011 as an authentic Italian pizzeria at the heart of Bristol, Pepe Nero made its mark on the city’s food scene with one of Bristol’s first vegan pizzas.

Pepe Nero has permanent residencies at The Beer Emporium on King Street and The Full Moon Bar on North Street, while the mobile travels round serving a selection of top slices at pop-up events and pitches around Bristol. The dream for owner Salvatore Persano is to go further afield, for private hire events and festivals.

At the Pepe Nero mobile at The Square, you can find a range of slices from meat, veggie and vegan pizzas (with or without vegan cheese!). Bases and tomato sauce are made from scratch and topping are generous. Pizza oven maestro Simone says: “It’s the best kitchen experience I’ve ever had – I get to chat with customers and make tasty pizza that everyone enjoys. I go home happy.”

How would Simone describe the company in three words? “Delicious, contemporary, friendly.”

Yorkshire Pudding Wraps

Yorkshire Pudding Wraps has been part of a family business for four generations. Set up way back when, it’s now run by Phillip and Jodie Searle, with a fleet of vans that can be found all over the UK.

They pop up at fireworks shows and funfairs, festivals and fetes, with one of their most memorable locations being Silverstone. Each van has a different menu, with a variety of sweet and savoury classics.

The friendly team at the Yorkshire Pudding Wraps van serves a huge selection of food stall favourites – from bratwurst with cheese and chilli to crepes, candy floss and churros – as well as their famous roast dinner in a Yorkshire pudding wrap. It’s the perfect fare for chilly evenings exploring the attractions at The Square.

How would Phil describe the company in three words? “Hardworking, authentic, approachable.”
