Le Boeuf & Lobster
Love Catering UK came from humble beginnings, just like all street food vendors – serving breakfast in a gazebo. After moving to Leeds to take up a residency and gaining some traction with their delicious creations, they toured the festival circuit for two summers, serving gourmet street food at music festival giants like Reading and Leeds and setting up as a sole trader at Glastonbury’s private campsites.
Over the last two years, they’ve served at events up and down the country – from Newcastle to London – all the while experimenting with different menus. “Le Boeuf & Lobster has always been a really strong brand for us,” says director Sam Elsender. “Our most popular menu item is definitely the Lobster Mac N Cheese – we’ve made a high-end ingredient accessible and affordable enough to try it if you’ve never had it before.”
Now their focus is on Bristol and the southwest, offering private catering for parties, corporate functions and weddings, as well as bringing their airstream to markets and pop-up venues. They even set up in people’s homes to create a mini festival in their garden. “We love catering directly to our customers – that way, we can offer a personal touch. It’s so rewarding.” As of December 2019, Love Catering has taken up permanent residency at Bristol & Bath Rum Distillery on Park Street, serving a quarterly changing menu of smokehouse, Mexican and vegan dishes.
No matter where they are, the team at Love Catering are determined to create a menu that’s gourmet without being formal. How would Sam describe the company in three words? “Something for everyone.”
